The Xbox Cloud Gaming controller leak shows a much smaller Microsoft gamepad than the standard Xbox pad. Images published by Tecnoblog come from Brazil’s Anatel regulator and point to hardware built around streaming.
The Anatel material shows black and white models with short grips, staggered sticks and the familiar Xbox face buttons. The shape looks closer to a travel controller than the full-size pad that ships with an Xbox console.

A compact controller for cloud play
The filing points to Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth support. It also lists a 500mAh internal rechargeable battery. That mix suggests Microsoft may want the controller to connect directly for cloud play.
A direct Wi-Fi path could matter for latency. Cloud gaming already depends on a fast connection. Removing a little friction between the controller and the stream would be a practical win.
The smaller body also tells its own story. Microsoft appears to be chasing something closer to a grab-and-go accessory, not another living-room controller.
Microsoft has not announced it yet
Microsoft has not confirmed the controller, pricing or availability. That means the safest read is simple: this is a leak from a regulator, not a product launch.
Still, the timing makes sense. Xbox has been trying to make the platform feel less tied to one console box. We have already seen that shift in software, including Microsoft’s recent decision to pull Copilot from Xbox app and console plans.
If the Xbox Cloud Gaming controller becomes real, it could be one of Microsoft’s more useful accessories. A small first-party pad for phones, tablets, handheld PCs and smart TVs would fit the way more people now play Xbox games.
