Razer just launched a new ultra-light headset called the Kraken X. The headset weighs in at just 250 grams, comes with 7.1 surround sound and priced at just $50. For a $50 gaming headset, the Kraken X packs quite a number of features. It comes with memory foam ear cushions, glasses-friendly eye wear channels, and an adjustable headband. The bendable cardioid mic has a tight pickup pattern that suppresses background noise. The headset comes in two models, the Kraken X and Kraken X for Console. Both models are currently on sale on Razer’s official site now and will be available elsewhere later this summer.
Razer has also announced that it’s bringing 7.1 surround sound capability to all of its 2019 over-the-ear headsets priced under $99 while those over $99 will be getting THX Spatial Audio as a standard feature. To get the new sound upgrades, Razer will send you an activation code for the 7.1 surround sound software once you register your headset on RazerID.
