PS5 Pro lottery applications at Sony Store Japan are open through October 7, 2026, according to PlayStation. Only people living in Japan with a Japan-registered Sony Account can enter. People who live outside Japan cannot enter. Sony Interactive Entertainment started the window on September 28, 2026. If applications exceed the planned allocation, Sony will run a lottery.
The hardware on offer is PlayStation 5 Pro, SKU CFI-7100B01. In addition, it ships with a 2TB SSD and a DualSense wireless controller. The Japan list price is 137,980 yen including tax. That is the same Japan MSRP Sony posted on March 27, 2026. The April 2, 2026, global change is in Sony’s price-change post. Meanwhile, the Japan PS5 Pro product page still lists that figure. PlayStation hardware prices have also drawn a US lawsuit. Tech My Money covered that in the Sony PlayStation price-hike class action.
Who the window is for
Applicants have to meet every listed condition:
- a Japan-registered Sony Account that already uses PlayStation online services
- My Sony ID sign-in unification
- Japan residency
The play-time gate is already closed. PlayStation counted hours from September 27, 2024, through September 27, 2026, at 23:59. The account had to be signed in while those hours accrued. Combined PS5 and PS4 play had to reach 60 hours or more. Therefore extra hours during the application window do not count.
Each Sony Account can request one console. However, PlayStation says resale applications are not welcome. In addition, shipping is Japan only. After an order, address changes, carrier forwards, and depot pickups void the purchase.

What happens after October 7
Then results start around October 26, 2026, by email on the Sony Account. Additionally, LINE alerts are available if the account is linked. Meanwhile, PlayStation warns carrier and iCloud addresses can miss the mail. The accepted domain is email.playstation.com.
Then winners complete purchase on an online Sony Store page by November 2, 2026, at 11:59. Physical Sony Store counters cannot finish that step. Accepted payments are credit card, Rakuten Pay, PayPay, and Merpay. Sony Interactive Entertainment runs the lottery. Furthermore, Sony Marketing handles the sale and shipment.
If winners miss the deadline, PlayStation says leftover units go into a later drawing. That extra round is only for people who met the conditions and lost the first draw. The 2TB drive is the stock SSD. Extra storage is still a separate buy, as Tech My Money covered with the SanDisk 8TB PS5 SSD.
Finally, PlayStation has not published a unit cap or a guaranteed ship date on the campaign page. Shipment follows a completed purchase. Those claims stay with Sony.
