The Apple Watch is currently the talk of the inter webs right now. Even though it’s still very new, app developers have created specific apps just for the Apple Watch (even though Android Wear and others have been out for a while). One engineer at Eleks Labs had an opportunity to get an Apple Watch before they were on sale, to try special experiment, using the device to control a Tesla Model S. Yes you read that correctly.
Rego Apps developer, Allen Wong has created an app called “Remote S” and its purpose is to give Apple Watch users (that own a Tesla Model S) full power and control of Tesla’s vehicle software and more just from the Apple Watch. All you have to do is tap a few buttons and you can do things like unlock doors, startup car, control charging and HVAC.
Remote S for the Apple Watch isn’t ready for the iTunes App Store yet, but it is in the process of getting Apple’s approval. Hopefully by the end of the year, Tesla owners can buy an Apple Watch to ease their pre-driving experience.
