Taxi service Lyft has just announced that their passengers can now pay for their rides using Google Wallet as a payment service alternative to a credit card. Google Wallet is a NFC mobile payment solution by Google and is now supported by many credit card accepting services. For Lyft passengers, to enable Google Wallet as a payment option, you must have the Lyft app installed on your phone and navigate to the “payment” section then select Google Wallet as the new payment method.
Lyft announced also that all Google I/O attendees would be provided with discounted rides during the conference on May 28 and 29. The company will share more details on the discounts in the “coming weeks.”
