Marvel Cosmic Invasion is adding two very different kinds of punch to its roster. Marvel posted an official trailer for DLC 1, which brings Cyclops and The Thing into the retro-inspired beat-em-up.

Cyclops gives the game another ranged mutant with optic blasts and leadership energy. The Thing, naturally, is here for brute force. That pairing makes sense for a side-scrolling brawler that already leans hard into comic-book team-up chaos.

A Good Fit for the Arcade Lane

The DLC costs $3.99, according to Marvel, though regional prices can vary by platform. It is the kind of small character drop that works well for a game built around quick runs, co-op sessions and roster favorites.

The trailer is the important part here because it shows how both heroes actually move. Cyclops looks like a cleaner screen-control character, while The Thing is the obvious pick when you want the room to feel smaller for everybody else.

We have covered a lot of game availability and update news lately, from new releases and delistings to surprise DLC beats. Marvel Cosmic Invasion feels like it understands the assignment: keep the core simple, then keep feeding the roster.

If the first DLC is the signal, the game could become a steady nostalgia machine. Marvel has more than enough characters to keep this going for a long time.

That is why the trailer matters more than a plain roster announcement. A beat-em-up lives or dies on animation, hit feel and whether each character has a readable identity in a crowded fight. Cyclops and The Thing give the game two easy-to-understand play styles without needing a long tutorial.

If more DLC follows this pattern, the roster can grow without making the base game feel bloated.
