Amazon has been great at giving us consumers exactly what we want, the way we prefer things to be. By cutting out the middlemen and eliminating the need for physical presence, they are surely among those corporations that are responsible for pushing the American economy further into the future. Today we have news of a once rumored Amazon convenience store where customers can simply walk in, find what they need quickly, choose it and simply walk out with their selection. That has become a reality this year. No people aren’t just stealing the merchandise when shopping at one of these Amazon Go convenience stores, they are partaking in a new, easier shopping experience where shopping isn’t stressful or time-consuming.

Amazon Go is an attempt to take your typical retail store and apply sensors, computer vision (and some AI machine learning) to allow customers to enter the store. First, you must be registered via the Amazon Go app on your smartphone, enter the store, fill up your bags (or carts) and leave out once finish without having to stop at a register or endure long checkout lines. You may as well how do you pay? It’s all taken cared of in the Amazon Go app, they charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt for your purchases.

Currently, Amazon Go offers a grocery store that serves plenty of food, all freshly made ready to eat meals and your ordinary essential foods that most grocery stores contain.

“We offer delicious ready-to-eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack options made fresh every day by our on-site chefs and favorite local kitchens and bakeries. Our selection of grocery essentials ranges from staples like bread and milk to artisan cheeses and locally made chocolates. You’ll find well-known brands we love, plus special finds we’re excited to introduce to customers. For a quick home-cooked dinner, pick up one of our chef-designed Amazon Meal Kits, with all the ingredients you need to make a meal for two in about 30 minutes.”

Amazon already has a working store near one of their many Amazon Biospheres in Seattle Washington. This store will be a model for the other locations and retail stores as Amazon plans to extend their growth in this market. Currently, it’s in its beta phase and only available to Amazon employees but feel free to stop on by and get an exterior view of the place and the Amazon Biosphere nearby at 2131 7th Ave, Seattle, WA 98121. You can find more details over at Amazon and if you happen to stop by, let us know how it was and feel free to share your pictures with us @techmymoney on Twitter.
