Amazon’s favourite connected wireless speaker (Amazon Echo) is now available for pre-order for anyone who wants to see how Alexa works. Before now, the Echovoice-controlled wireless speaker has been on sale by invitation only. For those who don’t know what the Amazon Echo is, it’s a wireless connected speaker you activate by saying “Alexa” (you can change it to anything you want) and give it commands just like Siri or Google Now. The Amazon Echo can do more than just getting your weather reports, sports scores and Spotify songs from Amazon’s cloud. The wireless speaker has its own apps, can control WiFi devices like Philips Hue lights, and can even read you a book. For $180 you can now pre-order the Amazon Echo (in the US only), shipping is set to commence on July 14th.
