Google just gave Pixel Buds Pro 2 a new Olive finish. In a Made by Google accessories post, Google says Pixel Buds are getting even better with new features, plus a new Olive finish for Pixel Buds Pro 2. The buds themselves stay the same hardware. That same post also names Pixel Buds 2a, but this story stays on the Pro 2 color and software.
Olive joins the existing color set
Google Store now lists Olive next to Porcelain, Peony, Hazel, and Moonstone. That is a color add, not a new model. So existing owners do not need to buy again for the software work.
Google is taking Olive orders starting August 12. Meanwhile the Pixel 11 Pro also launched in Olive. Google does not call the buds a matching set, yet the two products now share the same color name.
On the Store, Pixel Buds Pro 2 still list at $229. Google is selling them for $189 through August 23. That $40 cut applies to the current Pro 2 lineup, not only Olive.
The case stays white on the outside. Olive lives on the earbud caps, with the usual black stem and eartip.
Dynamic ANC and Gemini control arrive later
Instead of new drivers, Google is shipping software. Dynamic ANC will adjust when the earbud seal shifts, so a small slip does not dump the noise canceling. Then Gemini can change audio settings. Google’s example is simple: say “Hey Google, turn up the bass.”
If you wear a Pixel Watch, sleep sync can pause music, disable touch, and silence notifications after you doze off. Google also upgraded Live Translate. A tap on the buds starts listening mode, and Google says the pair can handle more than 70 languages in near real time.
The translate path is two-way. You speak in your language, and your Pixel phone plays the other person’s language back to them. Still, those software updates start rolling out in September. Existing Pixel Buds Pro 2 owners get that drop too. Olive is the part you can order now.
