First, Samsung has made it official. On July 22, the company will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked in London, according to an invitation published on its Global Newsroom under the tagline “A New Shape Unfolds.”
Specifically, the show starts at 2 p.m. BST (9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT). Moreover, fans can watch it live on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and the company’s YouTube channel. Notably, this is the first Unpacked held in London. Therefore, choosing a city that “moves to its own rhythm,” as Samsung puts it, signals a stage-set built around the foldable category Samsung has led since the original Galaxy Fold.
What Samsung is teasing
Admittedly, the invitation stays light on product details. Nevertheless, the “New Shape” wording is deliberate. For instance, over the past week, Samsung has dropped playful hints at a wider Galaxy Z Fold, using pizza slices, chocolate bars, and the Taj Mahal to nudge viewers toward a broader inner screen. In addition, a recent Z Fold 8 case leak has already shown the outlines of the next foldable lineup.
As a result, expect the focus to stay on foldables. In particular, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 are the safe bets to headline, with a rumored wider Fold variant drawing the most attention. Furthermore, Galaxy Watch and wearable updates typically round out a summer Unpacked. However, Samsung is not confirming any of that yet.
How to watch and reserve
Meanwhile, Samsung has already opened reservations on its US site. In short, buyers who lock in a pre-order ahead of the show get credit and trade-in incentives. Consequently, that reservation window runs through the morning of July 22, lining up with the on-stage reveal. Of course, for everyone else, the livestream is free to watch on Samsung’s own channels the moment it begins.
Ultimately, the timing is a shift from Samsung’s usual New York or San Francisco summer stops. In fact, it puts the London show head-to-head with a crowded July tech calendar. As always, we will cover the announcements live as they happen on July 22.
