The Nintendo Switch has been well received since its official release. Gamers in America (and abroad) have been avid in purchasing Nintendo Switch units and the exclusive set of games that come with it. Square Enix seems to be joining that exclusive list very soon. The popular company that is responsible for the Final Fantasy franchise, Tomb Raider, and Dragon Quest, has stated that they have plans to completely continue to support the Nintendo Switch with more original titles and some game ports.

“In addition to developing new titles, we also want to port what we can do with existing game titles more and more. Nintendo proposes various kinds of fun. There may be other companies offering amazing ways of playing with ‘Switching’ characteristics of ‘Switch’. However, since we have our way of doing things, we will make games that we are good at leveraging the functions of Switch.”Yosuke Matsuda, Square-Enix COO

Currently Square Enix’s latest offerings, I Am Setsuna port and an upcoming Octopath Traveller (still in the works), are a preview of what’s in store for the Switch. Although, a Final Fantasy exclusive title (and some retro title redos) would be a dream come true for all Final Fantasy fans across the world, old and young.
