Fujifilm QuickSnap turns 40 this year, and the company announced two new disposable camera models to mark the milestone: a black-and-white film version and a waterproof Active variant. Both arrive this fall.
Indeed, the QuickSnap line has outlasted the smartphone era by offering what Fujifilm calls “intentionality” — a single-purpose device that captures images exclusively, free from notifications and digital distractions. “QuickSnap reminds us to take a breath, be authentic, and capture a raw moment, filter-free,” said Bing Liem, president of Fujifilm’s Imaging Division.
QuickSnap Black and White
The first new model, QuickSnap Black and White, shoots on ISO 400 black-and-white negative film. Fujifilm designed it to capture rich contrasts, tones, and textured grain. Each camera holds 27 exposures on 35mm film and includes a built-in flash with an approximately 10-foot range. Additionally, a switch on the body toggles the flash on and off.
Film processing doesn’t come included, but the camera uses standard C-41 chemistry. Therefore, any lab that handles color film can develop it. Fujifilm prices the Black and White model at $22.90 USD ($34.99 CAD).

QuickSnap Active: Waterproof to 35 Feet
Meanwhile, the second model, QuickSnap Active, replaces the current waterproof QuickSnap with a tougher design. It features a protective housing and wrist strap designed for all-terrain adventures. The Active shoots on ISO 800 color negative film with the same 27-exposure count.
Specifically, there is no flash on this model — but the tradeoff is waterproofing down to 35 feet underwater. Fujifilm prices the Active at $24.75 USD ($36.99 CAD).

Why Disposable Cameras Still Sell
In fact, the analog photography revival has driven fresh demand for film cameras and retro shooters. The Camp Snap 2, a screen-free digital camera that launched last month, tapped the same desire for distraction-free photography.
Furthermore, Fujifilm has leaned into the analog trend before. The company turned its X Series mirrorless cameras into webcams back in 2020. However, QuickSnap targets a different buyer: people who want film’s unpredictability without investing in a camera body.
Pricing and Availability
Both QuickSnap models arrive in Fall 2026. Fujifilm has not announced specific on-sale dates or retailers yet.
