Lenovo Mirage Camera Shoots 180-Degree VR Videos for $299

Google set the standard for its 180-degree VR videos with the announcement of the Google VR180 almost a year ago. With that said, Lenovo’s Mirage Camera just became the first VR180 to hit the market.

Priced at $299, the Mirage Camera comes with two 13-megapixel cameras that take stereoscopic images and videos in the VR180 format. Unlike its 360-degree counterpart, the new Google 180-Degree VR Video format and the Mirage was designed to easily shoot and watch immersive videos (Outside VR, they’ll appear as traditional flat videos, but you can watch them in 3D virtual reality through the YouTube app with a Google Cardboard, Daydream, or PlayStation VR headset.)

Alongside the availability of the Lenovo Mirage Camera, Google also released a new VR180 app on Android and iOS that helps users manage, configure, upload VR180 contents Google Photos and YouTube. Users will also have the ability to stream VR180 videos live on YouTube.
