RugOne is putting the RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro on the IFA Berlin floor this week. The Ulefone sister brand calls it the world’s first rugged smartphone with a detachable modular action camera. It also won an IFA Innovation Award 2026. The trophy handoff is set for the Innovation Stage on September 4 at 14:30 CEST.

The camera snaps off the phone

Instead of packing a separate action cam, RugOne docks a thumb-sized recording module on the back. Magnets hold it there. Pull it off, and the cube records on its own. Meanwhile the phone stays the viewfinder, charger, and control surface. RugOne calls that Action Pod docking.

Then there is a magnetic mounting kit. Specifically, the company says you can park the module on a helmet, bike, or other gear for hands-free POV clips. Treat that as a pitch until someone films with it for real. It sits closer to a wearable action camera than to a sealed phone lens.

The phone still has to work as a phone

RugOne’s MWC spec sheet lists a 6.67-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display. It also lists a 9,000mAh battery. Imaging is a 50MP OIS main camera plus a 64MP night-vision lens. However, RugOne has not posted a full IFA spec card with chip, storage, or a retail price on rugone.net.

In addition, durability is the other half of the pitch. The Xsnap 7 Pro is an outdoor phone, in the same lane as other tough Androids such as the TECNO SPARK 50 Pro. Still, we have not dropped, dunked, or shot with this unit.

Berlin now, Kickstarter on September 7

IFA runs September 4 through 8. RugOne is in Hall 3.2, stand 137. On September 5 at 14:30, it hosts a 30-minute launch with Ulefone and RugOne leaders. The same booth also shows the Xlink 7 AI 4G sports walkie-talkie.

As a result, the consumer buy window is not the show floor. Official X account @RugOneOfficial says Kickstarter opens September 7. A $5 Super Early Bird pass is on store.rugone.net. That pass is not a phone preorder. It only claims a $50 Kickstarter credit. Besides that, RugOne has not listed a public phone price on its own site.
