LG Creator Original Picture Mode is coming to select 2026 OLED evo TVs after LG Electronics announced a Prime Video partnership built around Masters of the Universe. The new setting gives studios control over several picture parameters instead of applying one fixed cinematic preset.
LG says studios can define shadow detail, color balance, noise reduction and motion handling. Creator Original will initially work on the 2026 LG OLED evo W6, G6 and C6 series. However, LG has not announced support for older models.
The company plans to roll out Creator Original for Prime Video by the end of July 2026. Owners of a supported TV may need to wait for the feature to reach their set.
How LG Creator Original Picture Mode works
Filmmaker Mode typically aims to protect creative intent by switching off many post-processing enhancements. Creator Original takes a different route. Instead, it lets a studio specify how supported content should use processing features on an LG TV.
Those controls could help a studio preserve dark-scene detail without accepting one universal picture recipe. The same approach can also shape color balance and motion handling for a particular release. Still, LG has not explained whether viewers can inspect or override every studio-selected parameter.
LG attributes the playback pipeline to its Alpha 11 processor 4K Gen 3, 12-bit image processing and enhanced dynamic-range control. The company also highlights Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and its self-lit OLED pixels. Those specifications support the presentation, but Creator Original remains the new part of the story.

LG continues to experiment with where OLED screens fit in the home. Its recent StanbyME 2 Max announcement pushed a portable 4K screen into a different room category. Tech My Money has also followed LG’s OLED picture-quality claims since the company promoted Perfect Black technology for OLED displays.
Prime Video provides the first showcase
LG and Prime Video are using Masters of the Universe as the launch showcase. LG says the mode can tune glowing sword effects, dark lairs and fast action through creator-selected parameters. The movie is now streaming on Prime Video, according to the release.
Also, LG added a related Magic Remote shortcut on TVs running webOS 23 or later. Viewers can say, “I have the power,” and the TV will surface the movie, bonus features and related Prime Video content. The command supports English, French, Spanish, Italian and German when the TV uses the matching language setting.
Chris Jo, head of LG’s webOS Platform Business Center, said, “We’re giving fans new ways to engage with Masters of the Universe.” The executive framed Creator Original and the voice feature as ways to extend the film experience at home.
What owners still need to know
Creator Original sounds more flexible than a mode that simply disables processing. However, LG’s announcement leaves some practical questions unanswered. The company did not say how many Prime Video titles will support studio-authored settings after this launch.
Moreover, LG did not detail whether the picture mode activates automatically or requires a manual selection. It also did not confirm whether other streaming services will adopt it. As a result, the first rollout should show whether Creator Original becomes a broader format or stays tied to selected promotions.
For now, eligibility is narrow: a 2026 LG OLED evo W6, G6 or C6 and supported Prime Video content. Consequently, shoppers should not assume every LG OLED or every movie will receive the same controls.
