Therefore the hi-res streamer is no longer only about catalog quality. It is also about staying inside the track while you explore artists, credits, and editorial notes.
Real-time lyrics finally land
Qobuz says synchronized lyrics now scroll line by line as the song plays. Translations appear when the catalog has them. That closes a gap against big rivals that have shipped live lyrics for years. The company also points listeners to sing-along playlists built around the new feature.
A player that follows the artwork
The redesigned interface pulls colors and mood from album art. Each session feels tied to the release. A miniplayer stays on screen while you browse. On tablets, split-screen keeps the main player open while you open lyrics, credits, the queue, or recommendations.
Meanwhile queue tools are simpler. Upcoming tracks show more clearly. Autoplay lists the next few songs. A swipe can reorder or remove a track. You can also set three miniplayer shortcuts: favorites, playlists, or audio output.
Explore, credits, and CarPlay context
A new Explore panel turns one track into a map of similar albums, artists, radio, playlists, genres, and labels. Editorial pieces from Qobuz Magazine open from the player. Reviews and interviews sit next to the music instead of a separate browser tab.
Credits also got a cleaner layout for reviews, bios, digital booklets, and technical file data. You can follow an artist or label from that view. Chief Product Officer Axel Destagnol said the redesign targets subscribers who actively dig into music, not only passive playlists.
This mobile push follows a February 2026 CarPlay overhaul. That release added shuffle, library sorting, DailyQ and WeeklyQ playlists, and Siri voice control in the car and on the phone. Qobuz still centers hi-res audio and human editorial context.
Why it matters for streamer shoppers
Live lyrics and a sticky miniplayer will not convert every Spotify user alone. Still, they remove friction for people who already want lossless catalogs, liner notes, and buy-or-stream options.
