If a Nintendo 2DS XL is still under your radar for personal use or gifting reason, a special “Hylian Shield Edition” model is headed to GameStop. The special “Hylian Shield Edition” model will set you back $159 and it’s launching on July 2nd. It comes preloaded with The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, straight out of the box- the 3DS sequel to the beloved SNES classic The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past.

If you are wondering about compatibility issues, the Nintendo 2DS XL plays the entire library of Nintendo 3DS games in 2D. You have two large screens and built-in amiibo support to work with. At the time of this post, the Hylian Shield Edition of the New Nintendo 2DS XL has only been announced for North America. We are unsure if there are plans to bring the console to other territories. You can preorder the console on GameStop’s website, or prep yourself to wait in line because Zelda fans will be out of the woodworks.
