Apple smartphones haven’t been that environmentally friendly type of devices since the first iPhone and iPod. Primarily due to the LCD screens, motherboards, batteries and cameras. At today’s live event, Apple showcased its attempts to reduce the impact that smartphones have on our environment. Introducing a new disassembly robot named “Liam”. Liam breaks down iPhones so that they can be reused and recycled. Liam separates everything that would be unsafe and that could be reused for other devices.

Tim Cook stated that there are a billion Apple devices in the world, with many more that are being made nearly every day, it only makes sense to try to be more responsible environmentally. If not now, then later may be too late.
