It all started with tiny bezels then bezel-less phones with notches, now Lenovo has joined the race to bring an all-screen phone with the soon to be released Z5 smartphone. We first go a wind of the Z5 when the company first teased the device in mind-May, and now we finally have a release date. Lenovo will debut the device on June 5th (2PM local time) in Beijing, that’ll be a week before Vivo unveils its all-display phone that comes with a pop-up camera.

The company’s VP Chang Cheng noted that the Z5 has a 95 percent screen-to-body ratio — with all the renders we’ve seen, we still don’t know where its selfie camera is, the might go with a pop-up camera like the Vivo Apex or just hide it under the screen like those on-screen sensors. The VP also noted that the phone has 18 patented technologies, and I know the selfie camera might be one. Well, I guess we’ll just have to wait until next week to see what Lenovo has to offer.
