Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon bought The Washington Post sometime last year, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise when you get the Post in your next Kindle Fire HD purchase. According to recent reports from BusinessWeek, The Washington Post is working on an app that will come preloaded on the Kindle Fire HD tablet. The app’s expected to be free for the new Kindle Fire HD tablet owners, and a monthly subscription for other Kindles, iPads and Android tablets. Bringing the Post and Kindle together could be beneficial for the Post’s readership, as the Kindle Fire sales accounted for 22% of US tablet sales some years back.

The app, dubbed “Project Rainbow” has been in works for months, and will be available this fall. There are currently no words on how much it will cost for the said subscription or how much it will differ from the web price. To The Washington Post readers, this is a match made in heaven, trust human nature, the app may simply be seen as bloatware by those who want their device free from it.
