If you’ve been waiting for a worthy competition for Tesla’s electric cars, then Renovo just unveiled its Renovo Coupe. Renovo calls the supercar the first “all-electric American supercar.” The all-electric 2015 Renovo Coupe may fool you with its Shelby CSX9000 chassis, but what’s under the hood is what has auto-enthusiast wish they could head to the bank and clear their life savings. The Renovo Coupe is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack and direct-drive twin sequential axial flux motors that is capable of pushing out 500 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque. The company says that the Renovo Coupe is able to go from zero to 60 in under 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of over 120 miles per hour. At 3.4 seconds, it puts it ahead of the SP:01 and Tesla Roadster’s 3.7 seconds and most exotic cars that run on gas . The Eco-friendly Shelby Daytona look-alike can go 100 miles on a charge, and it’s capable of fast charging in just 30mins with a fast charger, or five hours at a standard Level 2 charger. The Renovo Coupe is a limited production vehicle coming in 2015, it’s priced at $529,000. The supercar will be on display at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this weekend.
