Microsoft’s update to Windows 8.1 starts rolling out today, and is free for Windows 8 owners. Windows 8 users can grab the update from the Windows Store this very moment. PC users that still use Windows 7 can get a taste of Windows 8.1, which definitely comes with a price tag. Those coming from Windows 7 will need to get Windows 8 for the regular price $119, or $199 for Windows 8 Pro, in order to be eligible for a Windows 8.1 update.
Microsoft also confirmed that there will be a boxed version of the Windows 8.1 in stores tomorrow, so PC builders could get a piece of the cake too. The Start screen in Windows 8.1 is more customizable than ever with new tile sizes, also comes with better Multi-tasking feature that lets you run up to four apps side by side with flexible windows sizing for each app on the screen.
