Uber will use the 2026 soccer rush to test a more predictable stadium exit. The company says Uber World Cup shuttles will run after matches at four U.S. venues, giving fans a reserved seat instead of another scramble for surge-priced rides.
For now, Uber plans the shuttle service for the New York/New Jersey area, Boston, South Florida and Dallas. Fans can book rides from the shuttle icon in the Uber app, either ahead of time or on matchday.
The pitch stays simple: upfront pricing and no surge pricing on the shuttle seat. Uber lists Miami, Dallas and Boston fares at $45. It lists New York/New Jersey at $49.
Where the stadium shuttles fit
However, this does not cover every World Cup venue in the U.S. Uber names four match markets for the shuttle product, while other tournament cities get different travel tools.
- Miami, Dallas and Boston: $45 shuttle fares.
- New York/New Jersey: $49 shuttle fares.
- Booking: in advance or on matchday from the Uber app.
- Timing: immediately after games at the host stadiums.
Also, the broader Uber Shuttle product focuses on scheduled routes, reserved seats and app-based tickets. Uber’s World Cup screenshots show event selection, route details and a QR-style ticket for boarding.
Uber is adding bigger vans and trip tools too
Meanwhile, Uber has another option for larger groups. The company also announced Uber Max, a 14-seat van reservation option for fans heading to games in New York, South Florida, the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
Fans can book Uber Max through the Hourly tile and reserve up to eight hours. As a result, the service works more like a planned group trip tool than a standard point-to-point ride.
In addition, Uber plans Travel Pass discounts, airport pickup wayfinding, smarter stadium pickup guidance in select cities, Dine Out rewards and national-team car icon customization inside the app.
Why it matters for fans
World Cup match days will pressure airports, rideshare lots and stadium traffic in multiple host cities. A fixed-price shuttle cannot solve every bottleneck. Still, it gives some fans a clearer option after full time. For more coverage of travel apps and mobility tech, follow Tech My Money’s Apps section.
That said, Uber’s plan remains city-specific. Fans should check the app closer to their match date and verify the official FIFA venue details before making travel plans.
