If you are big as Google and you missed out on the opportunity to buy Twitch what do you do? I guess Google’s done with feeling sorry for letting Amazon buy Twitch so it decided to take on Twitch instead. The company announced their new YouTube Gaming, a YouTube built for gamers. YouTube Gaming will include an app and dedicated website designed for its gaming videos both live-streamed and on demand. YouTube Gaming will launch this summer starting in the US and UK. At the event held in LA, Google made sure to different YouTube Gaming from your regular YouTube experience.
More than 25,000 games will have their own dedicated page and each page will feature videos and live streams related to that particular title. Users will be able to find channels from a wide array of game publishers and YouTube creators. When you add a game to your collection, you gain quick access whenever you want to check up on the latest videos, while subscribing to a channel will give you notifications as soon as they start a live stream. I wonder how Twitch is feeling at the moment knowing that YouTube Gaming will be a formidable competitor. Summer is around the corner and now is the time for creators who want a piece of the live game streaming empire to get their hardware ready.
