ARC Raiders and The Finals are heading into film and television through a deal with Chernin Entertainment. Nexon’s announcement names Chernin as lead producer for adaptations of both Embark Studios games. However, it does not identify a first project, cast, distributor or release date.
Chernin won the rights after several production companies and studios competed for them. The company sits within The North Road Company and has credits including Planet of the Apes and Hidden Figures. Its television work also includes See and Chief of War.
ARC Raiders and The Finals offer different settings
ARC Raiders supplies a survival setting: a future Earth where scavengers face machines and competing Raiders. Nexon reports more than 16 million copies sold since its October 2025 launch. In contrast, The Finals puts contestants inside a virtual combat game show, with arenas that players can destroy during matches.
The free-to-play shooter has registered more than 30 million players over three years, according to Nexon. That figure measures registrations, rather than copies sold or people currently playing. Its arenas also draw on real locations, including Monaco and Las Vegas.

For a sense of the other game’s setting, the PlayStation-published ARC Raiders launch trailer appears below. It shows the game, not footage from an upcoming film or TV production.

Embark will stay involved
Embark founder and CEO Patrick Söderlund, who also serves as Nexon’s executive chairman, says the developer will help shape the adaptations. Specifically, he says “the creative teams at Embark Studios will work closely with Chernin.” That establishes developer involvement, although the announcement does not spell out creative approval rights.
Meanwhile, the games have nearer-term releases on the calendar. Nexon schedules ARC Raiders’ Frozen Trail update for October 8 and the next season of The Finals for October 20. Those dates concern game content; they are not release windows for the adaptations.
The agreement adds to the game-to-screen activity behind stories such as A Minecraft Movie Squared and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. For now, though, Nexon has announced a production partnership. Fans still need details on which ARC Raiders or The Finals project will reach screens first.
