On November 5, 2026, Xbox Insiders can start trying an updated Xbox PC app. Jason Beaumont, VP of Xbox Experiences, says the build makes it easier to find games, connect with friends, and play. Xbox is opening that trial to Insiders.
The updated app now launches up to 60% faster. In addition, pages such as Home, Store, and Game Pass load up to 50% faster. Also, in-app windows open up to 65% faster. Microsoft bases those performance results on its own testing. Results may vary by device, internet connection, system configuration, usage, and other factors.
What Insiders start seeing
Insiders will start seeing those improvements in the Xbox PC app. The Library gets simpler navigation and updated filters. It also adds new ways to organize games. Xbox leaves those organization methods unnamed.
Friends and social features now sit in the main navigation. A player can see what friends are playing. The same menu can also start a chat or join a party.
Search reaches across more of Xbox from one place. In other words, that search covers games, including installed titles and add-ons, and people.
Xbox gives the app a cleaner look in the same Insider build. The cleaner look includes refreshed game cards, Home, Settings, and animations.
Cloud play on the web
Earlier this year, Insiders previewed a refreshed way to play on the web through Xbox cloud gaming. Over the next few weeks, that version reaches more players automatically. However, players who want it sooner can open play.xbox.com.
A new Library tab gathers cloud games a player owns. It also gathers games they open through Xbox Game Pass. Players can browse, sort, and filter that library. For instance, filters include recently played, genre, input options, and more.
PCs and larger displays gain a desktop mode. The refresh adds a dark mode and a light mode. It also adds five new high-contrast options.
TVs, headsets, and feedback
Xbox is beginning to bring the refreshed look and navigation to its cloud gaming apps. Those apps also run on supported TVs and supported VR headsets. Beaumont describes that TV and headset work as a start.
Beaumont also points players to aka.ms/xboxplayervoice to share what they think.
People who are not Insiders can join through the Xbox Insider Hub. The hub is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Joining the hub opens the Insider program. However, the updated PC app trial still starts with Insiders.
