Every 2027 GM EV will plug straight into Tesla Superchargers. GM’s August 13 charging page says Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC models get a native North American Charging Standard port. Therefore, owners will not need a DC adapter at compatible Superchargers. GM wrote, “By 2027, GM expects none of its EVs will require an adapter to charge at a Supercharger.” However, most 2026 GM EVs still ship with CCS. Those trucks and SUVs still need an adapter.
Which 2027 models get the native port
GM’s table is specific. For 2027, GM lists native NACS on the Cadillac Escalade IQ, Escalade IQL, Lyriq, Optiq, and Vistiq. Also, Chevrolet’s Bolt, Blazer EV, Equinox EV, and Silverado EV make the list. GMC’s Hummer EV pickup, Hummer EV SUV, and Sierra EV do too. Meanwhile, only the 2026 Cadillac Optiq already has the factory NACS inlet. GM sells the Bolt in 2026 as a 2027 model, so it already has the port as well. Everything else in the 2026 lineup still uses CCS at the factory.

The flip side is the old network. If the car has native NACS, a CCS fast charger still needs a NACS-to-CCS adapter. Level 2 J1772 cables still work. So the trunk kit shrinks. It does not vanish. TMM already covered GM’s Energy Pass charging app. That app sits in MyChevrolet, MyCadillac, and MyGMC. Tesla Supercharger, IONNA, Electrify America, and ChargePoint are live today. GM lists EVgo as coming soon.
Energy Pass is the other half of the story
GM is also trying to kill the stack of charging apps. Energy Pass combines registration and payment. Eventually, some networks will start a session after one activation, just by plugging in. That is Plug and Charge. Instead of treating Supercharger access as a rumor, treat it as a 2027 hardware change plus an app GM already shipped. TMM’s Kia EV3 US price note is the other cheap EV shoppers will compare. The GM story is simpler. Buy a 2027 EV from Chevy, Cadillac, or GMC, and the Tesla-style plug is in the fender.
