Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled its new flagship speaker range at the HIGH END Vienna 2026 show. Specifically, the British audio company introduced the 800 Series Diamond D5 lineup to celebrate its 60th anniversary. This range succeeds the outgoing D4 generation and represents the fifth iteration with signature Diamond Dome tweeters. Consequently, audiophiles and studio professionals can expect reference-grade sound reproduction from the entire collection.

The new collection consists of seven models to suit various home theater and stereo environments. For instance, the lineup spans from the compact 805 D5 stand-mount speaker to the massive flagship 801 D5 floorstanders. Additionally, home cinema enthusiasts can choose dedicated center-channel options for multi-channel setups. Pricing starts at $15,000 per pair for the entry model and climbs up to $65,000 for the top-tier flagship.

Advanced Space Frame Bracing and Cabinets

Meanwhile, the manufacturer redesigned the speakers from the ground up to combine acoustics and premium design. The cabinets offer hidden fixings, reduced panel gaps, and improved paint finishes for a seamless aesthetic. Furthermore, buyers can choose between Stealth Black, Warm White, Light Walnut, and Dark Walnut cabinets. The Dark Walnut version pairs dark metallic accents with Connolly leather trim for a luxurious presentation.

Reference Performance Upgrades

Crucially, the engineering team introduced major hardware upgrades under the hood. For example, a new Space Frame Bracing system uses internal aluminum rails to suppress cabinet resonance. Additionally, redesigned aluminum top plates and plinths with tuned-mass damping increase acoustic isolation. Specifically, the slim 804 D5 model gains a new aluminum midrange enclosure derived from the larger Turbine Head.

Worthing-based engineers continue to handcraft every single unit in the United Kingdom. Therefore, the premium design matches the strict standards of previous generations. High-fidelity audio lovers will appreciate this dedication to handcrafted detail. Specifically, the quality matches other premium audio gear like the Sennheiser Momentum 5 wireless headphones. Finally, the company will release the 800 Series Diamond D5 range globally on September 9.
