Sony will launch the PlayStation Pulse wireless headset in the US and other selected countries on November 19, 2026. Its US recommended retail price is $99.99, according to Sony’s October 21 announcement update. The headset comes in White and Midnight Black, with preorders opening on October 29.

The new Pulse uses larger planar magnetic drivers than Pulse Elite. Sony says the change produces fuller, deeper bass while retaining the earlier headset’s clean sound. It also supports PlayStation Link and a simultaneous connection to supported Bluetooth devices.

The launch details update the earlier Pulse and Pulse Edge announcement.

PlayStation Pulse price and preorder timing

Sony sets the US recommended price at $99.99. However, the announcement does not provide Canadian, Australian or New Zealand prices. The headset will launch through participating retailers and directly from PlayStation where that service is available.

For US buyers, direct PlayStation preorders start at 7am Pacific on October 29, 2026. Meanwhile, Sony gives a 10am local start for direct preorders in ten European countries. Those are the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

The general announcement also lists October 29 at 10am local time for preorders through participating retailers and PlayStation where available. However, its separate US direct-purchase instructions specify 7am Pacific. Buyers should use the timing Sony gives for their region and purchase channel.

The November 19 launch covers the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. It also includes Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and the UK. Sony says it will announce dates for additional countries later.

Larger drivers and two wireless connections

Sony describes the planar drivers as offering sound separation and spatial accuracy for directional cues such as footsteps and reloads. The launch announcement does not specify battery life or charging time.

PlayStation Link provides what Sony describes as lossless, ultra-low-latency audio. It also allows switching between supported devices, including PS5 consoles, PlayStation Portal, PC and Mac. Additionally, the headsets can connect to a supported Bluetooth device at the same time.

Sony’s comparison table lists an included PlayStation Link adapter with a USB Type-C connector for both Pulse and Pulse Edge. The standard Pulse also has built-in volume controls. Its integrated microphone uses AI-enhanced noise rejection to filter background noise, according to Sony.

The company has also changed the headset’s shape, with rotating earcups that let it lie flat for transport. Sony describes the updated design as intended for comfort and durability. It has announced both colors for the standard Pulse and the forthcoming Pulse Edge.

What remains exclusive to Pulse Edge

Pulse Edge is scheduled to launch in early 2027, separately from the November Pulse release. Sony’s table lists four magnets per planar driver for Pulse and eight for Edge. The company describes Edge as having twice the magnet volume.

However, active noise cancellation, built-in PS5 game-and-chat balance controls, a carrying case and an audio/microphone jack appear only in Edge’s column. Edge also has a detachable boom microphone and can use a hidden microphone when that boom is removed. The standard Pulse’s microphone noise rejection is therefore a separate feature from Edge’s active noise cancellation.

Sony says further Pulse Edge updates will follow next year. Its October update does not announce an exact Edge release date or price. For now, the November 19 date and $99.99 US recommended price apply to the standard PlayStation Pulse headset.
