AYANEO has revealed the AYANEO KONKR Pocket BLOCK, a compact Game Boy-style Android handheld. The company is calling it the world’s first AI handheld. The device debuted during AYANEO’s May 21 product sharing session alongside several other new additions to the lineup.
The KONKR Pocket BLOCK ships in two colorways. The grey and white version draws clear inspiration from the original Game Boy. There is also a purple and grey variant. AYANEO CEO Arthur Zhang presented the device live during the stream. However, full specifications and AI feature details have not yet been released. Ayaneo confirmed that additional information is still forthcoming.
Compact, Budget, and AI-Powered
The KONKR sub-brand sits below AYANEO’s premium lineup and targets more affordable buyers. Pricing for the AYANEO KONKR Pocket BLOCK is expected to land below $269. That undercuts the AYANEO Pocket Vert starting price by a meaningful margin. During the reveal stream, it was shown running games including Street Fighter, suggesting solid performance despite its compact body.
What the AI integration actually involves remains unclear. Whether it refers to on-device inference, game upscaling, or an AI assistant layer has not been specified. Still, the “world’s first AI handheld” claim is a deliberate positioning move. It places the KONKR in a competitive Android handheld market at an accessible price point.
Pocket AIR Mini x Arcade Home Also Launches
AYANEO also announced the Pocket AIR Mini x Arcade Home Limited Edition at the same event. The 2GB + 32GB model starts at $129.99. The 3GB + 64GB version is $139.99. It features a 4.2-inch 4:3 LCD at 1280×960 resolution and a MediaTek Helio G90T processor. Hall-effect joysticks and triggers, active cooling, and a 4500mAh battery complete the hardware.
The Arcade Home collab ships with officially licensed IGS arcade games pre-loaded on AYANEO’s self-developed emulator. Classic series including Knights of Valour and Oriental Legend are included. Quantities are limited, and pre-orders are currently open at ayaneo.com.
Consequently, the KONKR Pocket BLOCK is the more compelling announcement from this event. Whether the AI angle proves to be a genuine differentiator will depend on the full spec reveal. That announcement is still to come.
