YouTube has done it again, they’ve launched a separate YouTube Music app for those that enjoyed their music service. The plan is to make music more discoverable to listeners and to provide support to independent artists and let fans discover more music, just by using the YouTube Music app.
YouTube Music lets user search through YouTube’s entire music catalogue (music videos, tracks, albums, artists, remixes, covers, concerts, lyric videos) and offers a music & video streaming service, all for free.
Inside the app, the Home tab recommends unique music tracks, displays recently played tracks and shows the newest music of the week. You’ll also find a feature called “Audio Mode” which lets you play songs in the background, without the video displaying, this is great for long-term listening and battery life. The YouTube Music app is currently just available in the US. So far only Android and Apple iOS devices can use the app.
