Jack Dorsey, the chief executive of both Twitter and Square, is literally sharing some of his wealth to his employees. Apart from what he posted in his recent Tweet “I’d rather have a smaller part of something big than a bigger part of something small,” NYT (Bits) reported that he made the announcement Thursday evening. Jack Dorsey announced at the Twitter staff meeting that he would donate one-third of his stake in the company — worth close to $200 million — to the employee stock compensation pool “to reinvest directly in our people.” His donation will be available for grants, this will certainly improve the morale of his team after the company’s recent layoffs. The company also plans to announce its quarterly earnings next week.
As for me: I’d rather have a smaller part of something big than a bigger part of something small. I’m confident we can make Twitter big! ✌️
