The DARPA Robotics Challenge is coming to a close, with the finals being held today June 5th and the 6th. For those who physically be at the event today, you can watch the event live at CuriosityStream a new website the serves up documentaries. CuriosityStream will live stream all 25 contenders as they go through the contest tasks in a simulated disaster response course. The site will also get to stream some specials and documentaries tackling the 2011 nuclear plant catastrophe in Japan.
The DARPA Robotics Challenge was launched almost three years ago prompted by the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster. The contest’s purpose is to find an effective first-response and search-and-rescue humanoid robot. To watch the DARPA Robotics Challenge event live, head to live.curiositystream.com on June 5th from 10AM to 7PM ET and on June 6th from 11AM to 9:30PM ET. The website normally charges a monthly access for its documentaries, but all DARPA challenge video contents and livestream can be accessed free of charge.
