AT&T Trek HD

AT&T has just announced their newest self-branded, Android Lollipop, HD tablet – the AT&T Trek HD. This tablet is also the first Android 5.0 Lollipop OS tablet on AT&T’s portfolio. The AT&T plans to use this slate as a major step forward in developing affordable products that come with premium features.

The AT&T Trek HD tablet comes with 4G LTE connectivity, an 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) HD screen display and it weighs 340 grams. The Trek HD is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core 400 processor. You’ll find 16GB of internal storage, along with a MicroSD card slot for extra on board storage. As far as battery life, you’ll do about a 1/4 of a day (8 hours) on the 4060mAh Li-ion battery.

As far as cameras on a tablet, the AT&T Trek HD has a 5MP Auto Focus rear cam with a 2MP front shooter for video chats. As mentioned above, you’ll find Android 5.0 Lollipop for the operating system, and it surprisingly comes topped with the Google Now launcher.

AT&T is offering their first tablet up for a decent $49.99 today (May 12th) but you must sign up for a 2-year contract agreement (or $10 monthly on the AT&T Tablet installment plan). You can also add it to your Mobile Share Value Plan at $10 per month as well. If you opt out and decide to pick up the AT&T Trek HD in your local AT&T store, you will have to wait until Friday, May 15th, by then it sill be available nationwide.
