The HP Chromebook x2 is finally ready to ship as Best Buy opened preorders for the company’s iPad Pro competitor. The 2-in-1 Chromebook is the second tablet to run Chrome OS after Acer’s Tab 10.
For $599, you’ll be getting a 2-in-1 Chromebook that packs enough charge to run for about 0.5 hours on a single charge. As for specs, the HP Chromebook x2 comes with an IPS panel that’s 12.3-inch and 2400 x 1600 in resolution. It has an Intel Core m3 processor, 32GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, two USB-C ports, 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras, stereo speakers, a microSD card slot, and a headphone jack. The computer also comes with a detachable keyboard and also includes a stylus that can easily be housed on the side of the keyboard when not in use. HP notes that the ultra-strong hinge gives users a traditional laptop typing feel.
The expected shipping date is June 7th, but as noted by Android Central, Best Buy currently has orders shipping already and the company is offering in-store pickup too. There’s even a video of a customer who has already received him HP Chromebook x2.
