We’ve all asked for it, waited patiently, and we watched it being teased by a handful of people on Android and iOS devices. It seems like the wait is over as Instagram officially confirmed that multiple account support will be available to all this week. Instagram confirmed that users will be able to add up to five accounts to their Android or iOS app. This simply means that you can quickly switch between them without having to log out and log back in. If you’ve added multiple Instagram accounts, you’ll be able to receive notifications from any account that has it turned on. The number of devices you’re logged into or when last you logged in can affect the amount of notifications you get.
The new feature comes with the version 7.15 for iOS and Android, available in the App Store and the Google Play Store. If you don’t have this feature yet, head to your app store and try to update the app.
You can add multiple Instagram accounts to switch between them without having to log out and log back in. To add multiple Instagram accounts:
- Go to your profile and tap or in the top right
- Scroll down and tap Add Account
- Enter the username and password of the account you’d like to add
To switch between accounts you’ve added:
- Go to your profile
- Tap your username at the top of the screen
- Tap the account you’d like to switch to
Note that you can add up to 5 accounts.
Starting this week, you can switch between multiple accounts! 🎉
