The Fire TV Stick 4K costs $59.99, and Amazon says it ships now. However, the price that matters comes next week. Prime Big Deal Days on October 6-7 cuts the stick to $29.99 for US customers.
Amazon announced the new stick on September 30 with a redesigned remote. It also trimmed its streaming lineup, so here is what each tier costs and what Amazon is actually claiming.
What the new Fire TV Stick 4K offers
The stick has a quad-core 1.7 GHz processor and 8 GB of storage. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, and it plays HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and AV1 video. Dolby Vision is not on that list, because Amazon reserves it for the 4K Max.
It also takes a new slimmer form and a Direct Power option. A USB cable lets it draw power from the TV’s USB port, which means one fewer wall adapter. The stick runs Amazon’s Vega OS, with Alexa+ and the new Fire TV interface built in.
The simplified Fire TV lineup and prices
Amazon now sells three sticks and a cube. Its own chart lists these prices:
- Fire TV Stick HD: $39.99
- Fire TV Stick 4K: $59.99
- Fire TV Stick 4K Max: $84.99
- Fire TV Cube: $199.99

The 4K Max stays for gamers and home theater fans, with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and 16 GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Cube remains the hands-free option for enthusiasts.
Amazon says other existing models stay on sale while supplies last. For example, its Fire TV store page still lists a Stick 4K Plus. As a result, shoppers may see older models for a while.
Reading Amazon’s speed claim
Amazon says the new stick reaches content 20 to 40 percent faster than a similarly priced rival. It leaves that “leading brand” unnamed. It also breaks the claim down. The stick turns on faster, apps launch over 35 percent faster and content starts playing nearly 20 percent faster.
These figures come from Amazon’s own tests, and the company does not name the rival stick. Amazon also says the stick beat the built-in software on three 4K smart TVs from top-selling brands.
A new remote, and a catch for sideloaders
The new Fire TV Remote has a flat top and a curved, weighted bottom. Its home button gets a metal surface, and a customizable star button jumps to a favorite app. It ships in the stick’s box, and Amazon sells it alone for $14.99 starting in late October. A remote with aluminum housing and a Find My Remote feature arrives in early 2027.
Because the stick runs Vega OS, Tech My Money previously reported that sideloading is ending on Vega OS devices. Buyers who rely on sideloaded apps should check that first. Amazon also made Alexa+ free on compatible US Fire TV in August.
The stick ships today in the United States, Canada, Japan, Mexico, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Australia. More countries follow in late October.
