Paramount Pictures has released a new Street Fighter movie trailer for its upcoming big-screen adaptation of the classic fighting game. The official clip, posted to Paramount’s YouTube channel, teases the film’s 1993 setting and its next World Warrior Tournament.

A brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury

The film’s official site describes a story set in 1993. Estranged fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) return to combat. The mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. The site calls it a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury.

In addition, a deadly conspiracy lurks behind the battle royale, per the official synopsis. It forces Ryu and Ken to face each other and the demons of their past. The synopsis ends with a blunt threat: if they fail, it’s GAME OVER.

Specifically, the cast pairs professional athletes with internet personalities. Roman Reigns plays Akuma, David Dastmalchian takes M. Bison, and Cody Rhodes steps into Guile. In addition, Andrew Schulz brings Dan Hibiki to life, Vidyut Jammwal appears as Dhalsim, and Orville Peck plays Vega. Olivier Richters joins as Zangief, while Hirooki Goto takes E. Honda.

Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson rounds out the roster as Balrog. Notably, Jason Momoa plays Blanka and produces the film alongside Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Takayuki Nakayama, and Stefan Makhoul.

Kitao Sakurai directs the project. He also writes the film with T.J. Fixman, according to the official credits. The site promises to bring the battle from the arcade to the big screen, with Hadoukens and roundhouses included.

The official site pairs the trailer with a video gallery and full cast credits. It also offers ticket booking ahead of the October 16 release.

Release date

Street Fighter arrives in theatres on October 16, 2026, according to the official site. The release keeps Capcom’s live-action pipeline busy, since the company also announced a Resident Evil Veronica remake for 2027. The Street Fighter film also lands in a crowded corner of video game cinema. Earlier this year, Tech My Money tracked how Mortal Kombat II finally found the movie it wanted to be.
