Galaxy Book6 starts at $799 with a 14-inch screen

Samsung Electronics today added a 14-inch Galaxy Book6 that starts at $799. The new SKU is for everyday computing. It is not a replacement for the Core Ultra Book6, Pro, Ultra, or Edge models. It is available in select markets, with more regions later. Specs, colors, and features can change by country.

What’s in the $799 Galaxy Book6

Samsung pairs Intel Core 3 or Core 5 chips with Intel graphics. The NPU is rated up to 15 TOPS. Memory is 8GB or 16GB LPDDR5X. Storage is 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. The 14.0-inch LCD is WUXGA (1920 x 1200) at 350 nits. An anti-glare finish and a 16:10 layout help documents and tabs.

Meanwhile, battery life is up to 25 hours of video playback on a 61.2 Wh pack. A 45W USB-C adapter is in the box. Samsung says 45W fast charging reaches about 33% in 30 minutes. Windows 11 Home or Pro 25H2 is listed, with a console-only Linux option on some units.

The chassis measures 313.0 x 221.0 x 15.7mm. Weight is 1.35kg, though Samsung notes that figure can vary by market. The webcam is 2MP 1080p. Stereo speakers support Dolby Atmos. In addition, the keyboard is a Pro layout without a backlight. That is a clear cut versus the rest of the Book6 stack.

Design, colors, and ports

The new model keeps the Galaxy Book6 design language. Lines stay clean and balanced. The logo sits in the center of the deck. For the first time on Galaxy Book, Violet Silver joins a classic Gray option.

Ports include two USB-C, one USB-A, HDMI 1.4 (4K at 30Hz), and a 3.5mm jack. Both USB-C ports share the same functions, so either side can charge or dock. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 handle wireless. A security slot sits on the left edge beside USB-A. Instead, there is no discrete GPU. Graphics stay on Intel’s integrated engine. The trackpad is a clickpad. Keyboard layout can change by market.

Galaxy AI, not a Copilot+ pitch

Samsung EVP Mincheol Lee put the pitch in one line. “With the new Galaxy Book6, we wanted to make the Galaxy Book experience available for more people.” Likewise, it keeps Galaxy AI and phone-to-PC links at that price. Specifically, AI Select can pull insights from on-screen content and cut backgrounds. Note Assist summarizes Samsung Notes.

Therefore, Quick Share and Storage Share move files from a Galaxy phone. Multi Control and Second Screen work with supported Galaxy Tabs. Nearby Devices and Link to Windows round out the same-account setup. AI Select and Note Assist need a Samsung account and an internet connection. Note Assist only reads Samsung Notes text. Samsung also says basic Galaxy AI features are free, while extra and third-party AI tools can carry fees.

However, this SKU is not the Core Ultra Series 3 Book6 Samsung already sells. That earlier 14-inch model uses a different chip family and a higher starting price. Still, a 15 TOPS NPU is not a Copilot+ PC pitch. The Snapdragon X2 Elite Galaxy Book6 Edge is a 16-inch $2,099.99 machine, not this 14-inch LCD.

Price and availability

As a result, treat $799 as the floor for 8GB and 256GB in markets that get the SKU. Samsung does not list a US store date in the announcement. Availability, RAM, storage, and colors may vary by region. Samsung Care+ is optional coverage for accidental damage, repairs, and replacements where the plan is sold. Every unit is supposed to pass Samsung durability tests, though those tests are the company’s own standard.

Finally, the $799 start buys Core 3 or Core 5, a non-backlit keyboard, and HDMI 1.4. For example, that is the trade versus the rest of the Galaxy Book6 stack. It also sits beside other budget Windows laptops chasing $300 chips.
