Apple May Still Have Three iOS 27 Features Waiting For Fall

Bloomberg says Apple may hold Camera customization, Siri chatbot choices, and an Apple Watch face for fall hardware timing.

Apple showed off plenty of iOS 27 at WWDC 2026. The fall release may still have a few cards left in the deck.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has reported that Apple is working on three more pieces for the iOS 27 cycle. The list includes a new Apple Watch face, a more customizable iPhone Camera app, and broader chatbot support inside Siri. Apple has not announced those features as a complete fall package. Treat them as reported plans rather than confirmed launch-day promises. Still, the timing makes sense. Apple often holds some software features for new iPhone and Apple Watch hardware in September.

The most practical change may be the Camera app. Gurman previously said Apple planned to let users choose which Camera controls appear and where they sit. That could include flash, exposure, timer, and resolution. If Apple ships the change with a new iPhone 18 Pro, power users would get a cleaner way to keep favorite controls close.

Siri AI May Get More Chatbot Choices

The Siri piece is more interesting because Apple has already confirmed the bigger direction. Apple says Siri AI in iOS 27 can understand screen context, draw on personal context, search across apps, and answer questions using broader world knowledge. Apple also says Siri AI is in developer testing now. It will be available as a beta later this year for supported users.

The reported missing piece is choice. The current iOS 27 developer beta reportedly lets users switch between Siri and ChatGPT. Gurman says Apple plans to expand the list with more options over time. That could make Siri feel less like a single assistant. It may become a system-level doorway into multiple AI models, including services such as Gemini or Claude, depending on what Apple approves.

The Watch Face Could Be A Hardware-Timed Feature

The watch face sounds smaller, but it may be tied to Apple’s fall Apple Watch lineup. Gurman has pointed to a face inspired by Modular Ultra, but simplified for more Apple Watch models. That would fit Apple’s usual pattern. It is a software feature, but it could still help frame the next watch family.

None of this means iPhone owners should install the developer beta just to chase unreleased features. As we noted in our iOS 27 developer beta guide, early betas are mainly for developers and testers who can tolerate bugs. Apple also has a public WWDC26 developer video showing the official Siri AI direction. If these extra features are real, the safer move for most people is to wait for the public beta or the fall release.

For now, the clean read is simple. Apple already announced the foundation of iOS 27, Siri AI, and Apple Intelligence. The fall event may be where Apple fills in the hardware-timed details, especially for Camera, Siri model choices, and Apple Watch personalization.
