The Vought Rising trailer is here. It gives fans their first proper look at Prime Video’s next chapter in The Boys universe.
The prequel jumps back to the 1950s. Jensen Ackles returns as Soldier Boy, while Aya Cash is back in the orbit of Stormfront. Instead of moving forward after the main series, the show digs into Vought’s earlier days.
What the first look shows
The footage does not frame this as a clean heroic origin story. The trailer leans into forced Compound V injections, violent power fantasies, and early Soldier Boy myth-making.
That choice matters because prequels can feel boxed in. Fans already know where Soldier Boy ends up. They also know Vought becomes the corporate nightmare at the center of The Boys.
The hook is whether the show can make that fall sharp enough to justify the trip backward. If the story only explains things viewers already understand, the trailer’s style may not be enough.
Prime Video wants the universe to keep moving
Vought Rising is expected to premiere on Prime Video in 2027. The timing is not subtle. With The Boys reaching its finale, Amazon needs one of its biggest genre brands to keep moving.
The 1950s setting gives the spinoff useful room. It can play with Cold War fear, celebrity culture, old Hollywood image-making, and the ugly politics under this franchise.
That angle also gives the show a cleaner identity than a simple sequel. The best version of this idea would show how Vought learned to package violence as patriotism before modern celebrity culture made it even louder.
If it works, Vought Rising could make the larger story feel deeper instead of just longer. Tech My Money recently covered another streaming-universe shift with The Mandalorian and Grogu’s theatrical move. This one has a different challenge: making Vought’s past feel like more than homework.
