Anker has launched the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max. Both are true wireless earbuds built around the company’s proprietary Thus AI chip. The Pro starts at $170 and the Pro Max at $230. Both models are available now.

The Thus AI chip coordinates eight microphones and two bone conduction sensors to isolate your voice during calls. Additionally, it powers 20 onboard voice commands with under-one-second response time. Anker says the chip captures your voice more clearly in noisy environments. Open-plan offices and crowded public spaces are exactly where most earbuds fall short on call quality.

Both models feature Adaptive ANC 4.0, which Anker says processes audio data up to 384,000 times per second. The company claims noise cancellation is up to twice as effective as the Liberty 4 Pro. Furthermore, HearID 5.0 creates a personalized EQ profile from a brief hearing test. An AI Sound Enhancement feature recovers up to 65% of audio quality lost to Bluetooth compression. This addresses a compression loss that affects most wireless earbuds.

Connectivity runs on Bluetooth 6.1 with multipoint support for simultaneous connection to two devices. The earbuds work with Apple Find My and Google Fast Pair. Both models carry IP55 dust and water resistance. Battery life is 6.5 hours per charge with ANC active, extending to 28 hours total with the charging case.

Liberty 5 Pro vs. Pro Max: What Changes

The two Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro models differ mainly in their charging cases. The standard Pro ($170) has a 0.96-inch TFT touchscreen case and handles AI-based translation on the earbuds only. The Pro Max ($230) upgrades to a 1.78-inch AMOLED case display. It also adds an AI Note-Taker for call transcripts, speaker identification, and action item flagging. Translation on the Pro Max works on both earbuds and the case display.

The Liberty 5 Pro is available in black, blue, pink, and white. The Pro Max comes in black and gold. Consequently, buyers focused purely on call clarity can save $60 by skipping the larger display and AI transcription. Still, for heavy meeting users, the Pro Max’s note-taker adds genuine daily utility. The base model simply does not match that capability.
