Cisco introduced Webex Dialog at WebexOne in Austin on October 7, 2026. The company calls it an agentic CX harness for the Webex AI Agent platform. Vinod Muthukrishnan, VP and GM of Webex Customer Experience, wrote the product post.
Cisco says Dialog should keep working after a chat ends. It would coordinate people, other agents, and backend systems until a customer outcome is reached. However, this remains a preview. Cisco anticipates beta availability in Q1 CY27. The post also warns that Cisco is still developing many of the features.
What Dialog is supposed to do
Dialog, the all-new agentic CX harness powers the Webex AI Agent platform and transforms customer-facing conversational AI agents into high-impact relationship managers at scale. Cisco frames it as a common operating layer. AI Concierge, AI Receptionist, and third-party conversational agents would sit on it. In addition, Cisco says it runs on the company’s networking and security stack.
Next, the blog lists four core capabilities. Long-horizon agentic execution keeps work going after the interaction ends. Relationship context carries one persistent customer view across channels, teams, systems, and time. Specifically, Cisco says self-learning improves from journeys, human judgment, and exceptions, while staying inside enterprise policy. Rapid onboarding treats an AI agent like a new teammate. It starts from conversations, policies, and procedures the company already has.

When it ships, and what sits next to it
Dialog itself is the later piece. Meanwhile, Cisco is expanding AI Agent 360 with Agent Observability with Splunk. Cisco plans general availability for that visibility layer in December 2026. Agent-to-Agent protocol support is due the same month. The Webex Contact Center MCP Server sits in beta, with general availability planned for October 2026.
A companion collaboration post from Snorre Kjesbu covers workspace agents that can join spaces, meetings, and calls. That remains a separate Webex App story from Dialog’s CX harness. Other agent tools, from Grok Bot’s persistent cloud machine to Claude Cowork on phones, chase the same follow-through problem. Therefore Cisco still has to ship Dialog in beta before anyone can test the claim.
Finally, Cisco’s own footnote is blunt. Cisco is still developing many of the products and features it named. Release dates can move. As a result, Webex Dialog is an announcement with a Q1 2027 beta window, not a tool you can buy this week.
