Meta Pocket is now listed on the US App Store. Meta’s About Pocket page still calls the app a place to create, share, and discover gizmos with friends. Therefore Apple’s US page showing version 26.0 on August 20 is the news. Google Play lists the same free Android app, last updated August 19. Engadget only flagged those store listings.

What a gizmo actually is

Meta defines a gizmo as an interactive, playable AI-generated experience. People type a prompt, and Pocket builds a small app they can tap, swipe, or tilt. The App Store copy also says gizmos can play sound, use the camera, and pull photos from the camera roll. In addition, Google Play says some gizmos can even reason about the world around them.

Creators can open an editor after the first pass. Official stills show color, tweak, and text tools, plus a remix toggle on post. Meta says a shared link can open without the Pocket app. However, deleting a post does not delete remixes that already exist. Meanwhile likes, saves, and playlists sit in the same feed as the gizmos themselves. Help copy also lists microphone access, so some gizmos can take spoken input.

US stores, accounts, and the leftover limits

The US iPhone listing is free, iPhone-only, and needs iOS 17 or later. Apple rates it 13-plus for user-generated content. Google Play rates the Android build Teen and reports more than 10,000 downloads. Still, Meta prints a regional caveat on the help page: Pocket is not yet available everywhere, and some features may stay missing in a given area.

Pocket uses a Meta account. The help page says interactions with gizmos will be used to improve AI at Meta. As a result, Community Standards still apply, and Meta may hide or remove a gizmo that breaks them. TMM already covered the quiet Brazil-first Pocket launch. Instead, the same week’s Meta AI Mac desktop app is a separate product, not a Pocket client.
