The Therabody CryoTherm Palm has officially launched as a $399.99 palm-cooling and contrast-therapy device. It is aimed at athletes who want to manage heat and fatigue during training. It is not a massage gun, and it is not meant to replace normal recovery. Instead, Therabody is positioning it as a tool for short breaks between sets, sprints, timeouts, water breaks, or other intense intervals.
The device uses Therabody’s Cryothermal technology to cool both palms without ice or water. That matters because the palms contain arteriovenous anastomoses. Those specialized blood vessels help the body exchange heat quickly. Therabody says cooling that area during rest periods can lower thermal strain, reduce perceived exertion, and keep output steadier.
What the CryoTherm Palm Does
CryoTherm Palm has dual cooling surfaces, so users rest both palms on the device during training breaks. Therabody lists three cold settings: 46.4 degrees Fahrenheit, 53.6 degrees Fahrenheit, and 60.8 degrees Fahrenheit. It also supports localized heat therapy. A contrast mode alternates hot and cold treatment.
The design includes an LCD display with a stopwatch. It can track treatment duration and temperature status. Therabody also says the device remembers the last-used setting, runs for up to 120 minutes on a charge, charges over USB-C, and includes a travel lock and pouch. The anti-roll shape should help it stay put in a gym or training-room setting.

The Performance Claims
Therabody’s launch claims lean on two controlled studies. One involved Division I athletes at the University of Southern California. Another involved elite soccer players at IMG Academy. In the USC strength-training study, Therabody says athletes completed 58 percent more reps in their final set when using CryoTherm Palm. The company also cites 28 percent more total work volume and a 7 percent increase in post-session grip strength.
The IMG Academy sprint testing focused on repeated all-out efforts. Therabody says athletes felt 60 percent cooler and increased top sprint speed by 2.45 percent. The company also says they maintained sprint velocity 4.7 percent better versus the control condition. Those are company-cited results, so buyers should treat them as product-launch claims rather than guarantees for every workout.
CryoTherm Palm is available now in the United States through the official Therabody product page. Therabody says international availability in the EU, UK, Australia, and Canada is planned for fall 2026. For readers following recovery gear, this is an interesting shift from Therabody’s usual post-workout lane. CryoTherm Palm is meant for use during training itself.
