Spotify personal podcasts are the headline feature from the company’s 2026 Investor Day. The company also announced a real-time podcast chatbot and expanded audiobook tiers. Most features roll out to Premium subscribers in the US over the coming weeks.

The podcast chatbot is available today for Premium mobile users in the US, Sweden, and Ireland. Listeners can ask questions about any episode they are currently watching or listening to. Spotify says the goal is to let users delve deeper without having to leave the app.

Spotify Personal Podcasts: Generate Your Own Audio on Demand

The bigger announcement is Spotify personal podcasts. Starting next month, eligible Premium users in the US can generate private audio episodes by typing a prompt. Spotify draws on world knowledge and the user’s taste profile to create a tailored result.

Generated episodes are saved privately in your library. You can also schedule them to run daily or weekly. Furthermore, you can feed in text, PDFs, or links to shape the audio content. A voice selector is included as well.

Additionally, Spotify is launching Studio by Spotify Labs. This is a standalone desktop app that creates personalized audio using apps and services on your computer. Specifically, Studio can run scheduled workflows on your behalf with your permission.

Creator Tools, Memberships, and Audiobook Updates

Spotify is also introducing Memberships for podcast creators. This gives podcasters a way to earn recurring revenue directly from their most engaged fans on the platform. Additionally, Creator Sponsorships are now live for video creators in the Spotify Partner Program.

Audiobooks are also getting a round of updates. Currently, Premium subscribers get 15 hours of audiobook listening included per month. New Audiobooks+ tiers with higher listening limits are coming this summer. Moreover, family and student plans for Audiobooks+ will follow later in 2026.

Prompted Playlists are expanding to audiobooks this summer as well. This feature already works for music and podcasts. Indeed, more than half of podcast listeners who used the feature discovered a new show. Consequently, Spotify is betting the same discovery lift carries over to audiobooks. The same investor day event also saw Spotify announce its new AI covers and remixes tool with Universal Music Group.
