Hey, better late than never right? Apple made us all aware of this last year when they promised it would be available “in the first half” of 2016. Well, they didn’t make the deadline because they just released the brand new Apple TV remote app to replace the sleek remote that came with your Apple TV (generations two, three and four). The new app lets you execute touch-based controls just like the hardware remote, and also talk to Siri. The free app also supports motion control for those who like play games. The apps Game Mode simplifies the app for gamers. The new app is compatible with the second-generation model of Apple TV onward, this means you can search on the Apple TV using Siri voice control.
The app is called Apple TV Remote on the App Store, iPad users show note that the app is not optimized for the iPad’s larger display. If you’ve misplaced your original remote which cost around $79, then I guess you’ll appreciate the release of the new app.
