Apple MacBook Air

Looks like Apple isn’t letting the distractions of CES 2015 bother them much, Thanks to 9to5Mac’s claim, the long-rumored 12-inch Apple MacBook Air is going to actually happen, but now we know that it uses a newer body that’s much thinner and narrower than its predecessor, the tiny 11-inch MacBook Air that is now for sale.

Seems like Apple is scrapping many of its expansion ports. With the 12-inch screen you now only have just the headphone jack and a next-generation USB Type-C port. Now the USB Type-C is meant to handle all the charging and displays. While it’s quite innovative, it would really be a pain to have to go out and purchase an external hub for all the other devices and peripherals (such as Ethernet, VGA, extra USB’s, HDMI, CD/DVD player and Microphones).

Assuming that Apple will eventually provide a “special” charger that can support multiple devices and inputs at the same time is a wish worth waiting for. And don’t go tossing your MacBook Air 11-inch out the window yet, because this MacBook may not arrive until “mid-2015.”
