e-cigarettes

We all have heard by now that smoking E-Cigarettes is clearly bad for your health. But since the release of E-Cigarettes, the public has taken to the liking of smoking again. But recently we have come across some information about smokers that charge their E-Cigarettes with USBs, may contain malware.

If you don’t know by now, e-cigarettes can be charged via USB (some do use rechargeable AA batteries) either plugged into a wall socket or to a computer, like you would a phone or tablet. However because of this, USB connectivity has allowed some very creative hackers to embed malware inside of them.

It seems that malware has been hard-coded into the USB charger and when plugged into a computer’s USB, it installs itself and infects the computer’s system. We aren’t 100% sure that this is a true, but given that there is malware out there like BadUSB that can do something similar, it doesn’t seem so far-fetched.
